Description
April 14- May 19 2025 (6 Mondays) 1-2 PM, PST. In this 6-week live zoom class we will explore how the nervous system is formed and ways to heal developmental trauma. You will learn tools, strategies, meditations, and be facilitated through deep layers of healing. By the end, you will be empowered to shift long-standing emotional and/or mental blocks created long ago and establish a new way of relating to yourself and interacting in the world.
There is a common theme among people I see for sessions. Body pain, sleep issues, anxiety, depression, chronic health conditions. There is a subset of people where basic nervous system skills (breathing, visualization, meditation, movement), still don't feel like they touch the core of the issue. This is where the deeper transformational work of healing developmental trauma comes in.
Development Trauma is the trauma experience early on in life. It can entail a gamut of experiences including loss, abandonment, abuse while very young, but also less overt forms such as not being lovingly tended to as a baby or young child. It also includes stress while in utero experienced by the mother and ancestral trauma as well (think hardship from grandmothers/grandfathers passed down through the genetic line).
Here is the thing about it, it can be really hard to identify because we generally don't remember those years of our life. You may hear stories about how it was when you were young or know your circumstances, but most often cognitive memories aren't there. But the memories reside deep within your tissues and cells. And they can have a huge impact on the quality of your life right now.
Think for a moment...are there chronic health and/or states of being that you live with and have for a very long time? Maybe you have a hard time sleeping. Maybe you have an autoimmune condition, anxiety, nervousness, a feeling of being isolated? Or you may be one who always seems to have something going on. You had back pain, then it was headaches, then skin rashes, now allergies. You get the idea. It's always something!
These are all potential indications developmental trauma could be a factor for you. So then, what do you do? You look to your body. This is what we will be doing in the upcoming 6-week zoom class in April; Healing from your Roots: Unlocking Developmental Trauma. In this class you will learn:
This class is ideal for you if you already have a baseline knowledge of nervous system regulation- think fight, flight, freeze, breathing, yoga, brain retraining techniques. In this class we will go deeper and explore the underlying cause of nervous system imbalances from a somatic perspective. We will be approaching this subject in a mindfulness, body-based based way. You will learn a whole new approach to healing that is gentle, effective, and transformative 🧡.

- A whole new approach to working with your chronic symptoms and nervous system so you don't have to work so hard just to "maintain".
- The science that supports why developmental trauma contributes to chronic conditions and the identified ways to heal it
- The profound healing impact of connection and ways to cultivate that within yourself and others
- A depthful investigation into the flight, fight, freeze, and fawn response and how to work with these parts so they don't work against you and your healing
- Meditations to calm the nervous system, HPA axis, and vagus nerve
- A vagus nerve movement/yoga/self bodywork session where you will learn how to regulate the vagus nerve
